The Yorba Linda High School Girls water program has been part of YLHS since the inception of the school. When the program first began, it was a Division 6 sport and the team was successful. The school opened its doors in 2009 and the YLHS Mustangs earned their first CIF Division 6 Championship in 2013. Our current head coach led the YLHS Mustangs to their second appearance in the CIF Division 6 Championship game in 2014 where they lost to Palm Desert High School. After that year, the Mustangs moved up in to Division 1 where they continue to compete. The Mustangs are currently in the Century Conference which is comprised of the North Hills League and the Crestview League. The North Hills League is made up of Canyon High School, Brea Olinda High School, El Dorado High School, and El Modena High School. The Crestview League is made up of Esperance High School, Foothill High School, Villa Park High School and Yorba Linda High School. The Crestview League is a very competitive league with multiple teams that create athletes that continue to compete at colleges around the United States.

The YLHS Mustangs are made up of athletes that are committed to the sport of water polo and their advancement in the sport. The team adheres to a strict attendance policy for the Pre-Season and Season practices. Our normal practice schedule begins the third Monday of the school year and continues until the end of the winter season (February). We have in pool practices as well as weight room practices to make these athletes very well rounded for the sport.

The goal of the program at YLHS is not only to make exceptional athletes but to foster the ideas of teamwork, confidence and dedication. We do our best as a coaching staff to push our athletes to fulfill their potential as athletes, students and as people.
